It is just the worst. Why this was allowed? Now we have to look at it for years to come.
Any chance the Brookline Selectmen can start doing things that don't adversely affect residents?
The only explanation this building design could be approved is if a few palms were greased. At most the town is guilty of corruption, at best the people approving this design have no sense of aesthetics.
Another black eye for the town of Brookline. How soon before we become the laughing stock of Massachusetts?
We live right around the corner from this atrocity. I keep hoping that the building will get better int eh next stage of work, but it only seems to get worse.
I was wondering if by chance the town could not block the construction because it was a church, or if by chance it was approved because there is supposed to be some sort of community center. Either way i suspect we are stuck with this hideous building for many years to come.
Meant to say
It is a house of worship and municipalities have almost NO power to regulate the building.
Jesse Mermell, a selectman, sent me this link about the Dover Amendment. There's not much that can be done. Although I doubt this building is a house of worship. Is the church taking advantage of the building to create a commercial space?
